After living not once but twice in London (once was simply not enough), spending most of my spare time travelling out country to antique fairs or wandering old villages. I always craved my own part of history, my own cottage with its own story, to fill with treasures I have found along my travel.
For me, it is a step back in time and a place I can switch off, relax and retreat, I love how it engulfs me when I am there, in any part of the house and garden. Then to step out onto the highstreets of Fremantle where every day is a new adventure!
She is well travelled old gal, and revels in discovering new cultures, history, food and textiles, she LOVES collecting textiles, cups and chairs (when she can) and bringing them all back. As a potter herself, her pieces in the house are a mix of cups/plates she has thrown on the wheel and others are from the places she’s been. You will find a rug in every room, from all parts of the globe (Marrakech, Persia, Turkey and UK), all with their own story, books of adventures, food and interiors far and wide. With all her love for travel, she prefers nothing more than returning home, her little Freo sanctuary, baking sourdough bread (see our amazing local bakeries just down the road), running a bath and drinking the perfectly brewed tea, then curling up and reading above books.
Your escape from the everyday, from the minute you walk into our terrace, you will be transformed back in time but with all the comforts of today (beautiful linen sheets, comfy beds and tea). There you will have everything you need to escape, or the access to the Freo adventure you are excited to commence. The cosy two bedrooms inside, both with their own personality and special private ensuite room at the end of the cottage garden. Put the kettle on, make yourself a tea from our selection (as all cottages need tea) or put the xx coffee. We ask for you to make yourself at home and treat it with love and care as she’s old lady.
